An EXV‑SP Explosion Vent (where “EXV” stands for explosion vent or venting device, and “SP” denotes a particular variant) is a protective device (rupture panel) designed to relieve overpressure from a vessel, duct, filter, silo, or other enclosure containing combustible dust, gas, or vapor. Its purpose is to act as a controlled fail‑point: when internal pressure from a deflagration exceeds a predetermined threshold, the vent opens rapidly to safely discharge the pressure and flame, preventing catastrophic structural damage.

EXV‑SD is the model designation for a high‑performance explosion venting (rupture) panel designed to safely relieve overpressure in vessels, ducts, filters, silos, or other enclosures handling combustible dusts, gases, or vapors. The suffix “SD” may denote Standard Duty, Stainless / Dust, or a particular application variant, indicating that the vent is suited for general purpose industrial conditions.
